I never imagined I would climb an ACTIVE volcano and get so close to the lava that I could roast a marshmellow! Wow God is good.

Let me tell you a little bit about the journey though:

We start off with the option to ride a horse or walk up the trail to get to the lava near the top of this volcano, so OF COURSE we are all like, “What! Horses? We got this! Were going to walk!” The bad thing is that you get this option the entire way up! These men and boys follow you with their horses and ask you if you want to pay to ride the horse up EVERYTIME you take a water break or wipe your sweat. (SO SMART) One by one more and more girls end up on horses. But because of my pride and being one of the “athletes” I chose to walk it the whole way! (My calves were VERY upset with me the next morning)

We finally get to the lava though and it is AWESOME!!! It wasn’t as liquidy as i thought, but it was flowing! You could see the redish orange color of the lava but the top was a black rock because of the cooling.  When it was flowing, it would look like an avalanche! DON’T WORRY MOM I WAS A GOOD 3 to 5 feet AWAY 😉

It was so beautiful! We were actually higher than some clouds….CRAZY!

Well on the way down about 10 of us tried to use the American sign for hitching a ride, and what do you know- IT’S UNIVERSAL. We crammed into the back of a pick-up and rode our way dowm. Actually to be completely honest the truck passed me, so I ran to catch up and jumped on the bumper the whole way down!!

I think climbing a volcano definitely foreshadows what our team is about to do in the spiritual realm! We are bout to bring the FIRE and KINGDOM of God to the nations!

*Sorry about not having pictures up! The internet is not fast enough to upload pictures at this point.  Pictures will come up as soon as I can upload them*

Love you. Bye.
