Saying one final goodbye to loved ones before launching to ECUADOR!

Rumor has it they are the best squad leaders in WR history

First day of ministry in Quito!! Nick was PUMPED!

Our team with Janeth, our ministry host in Quito πŸ™‚ We worked with an organization named Remar that rehabilitates, disciples, feeds, and clothes Ecuadorians that are in need.

Bridget and Estelle πŸ™‚ Two of the munchkins we got to play with everyday at Remar

This is what afternoons at Remar normally consisted of.

Team Tetelestai + Jordan at the Equator

Patrick, Mabe and Fabi πŸ™‚ These were our house parents in Quito! The ones that cooked for us, prayed for us, and spoon fed us every speck of food left on our plates.

Gap J on our way to debrief in Baños!

Canyoning – the coolest experience.

What people think the World Race is like.

What it’s actually like.

Worship in Baños!!!

On our way to Cuenca where we spent month 2 & 3!

The Cathedral in the middle of the city

The view from the balcony of Iglesia Viva, the church we lived in

Baptisms + little babes. Do Saturdays get better?

Marcela and Wilson are the Young Life leaders here in Cuenca. I have LOVED getting to know them, learn from them, and see how God is moving through Young Life here in Ecuador.

Young Life Banquet!! Young Life is a ministry I love, and it was so cool to see how much of an impact it makes not only in the States, but around the world!

The day a full out band was practicing in our back room, people were in the front room setting up a surprise party, and a random clown walked into the kitchen. Gotta love Ecuador.

Got a picture with a clown in my clown pants

Karaoke team times got serious

Some of my favorite memories involve us all in the kitchen jamming to tswift (Trey knows all of the words)

Family dinners were definitely another favorite part about Cuenca.

Each week, we had the privilege of opening up our home and inviting our friends over for English classes. I loved how eager they were to learn and how much of a joy it was to teach them using not only words, but charades.

The day we watched a wedding happen from our upstairs window.

The night Ximmy and I crashed our first wedding!!!! Key word: first.

We painted an army of children’s faces in less than 20 minutes. I’d call it a successful day.

“Xi-meat”

An accurate depiction of our team

This is Oscar. He started out as the manager of the Adventure Company Maya and I tried to get discounts from, but ultimately became a good friend. It seemed like we just randomly connected with him, but after Maya and I went back to Baños the 2nd time, I realized we had very similar stories. I had the chance to tell him about Jacob, and how the Lord has worked in my life since his death! I’m super thankful for “The Muchachos”

How do an American, Canadian, Ecuadorian, Bosnian, Finnish, and Columbian all end up hanging out together at Geo Tours? We’re not sure, but it was awesome.

“The Muchachos” friendship bracelets.

Trey bringing the Christmas spirit to Cuenca

Our Christmas Brocco-tree πŸ˜‰ The ornaments had seen better days

Spent Christmas with these people πŸ™‚ My favorite part was worshipping and listening to how beautiful it is when people of different languages worship the same God.

Having a national park as our playground here in Cuenca has been a reminder of how majestic the Lord is, and how much He loves His children

The Leek family!! Bob and Lori were our amazing ministry hosts while in Cuenca. They taught us, loved us, fed us, laughed with us, adventured with us, and pointed us to Christ in everything they did. I’m forever thankful for the way they have poured into us!

Our last night in Cuenca πŸ™ saying “hasta luego” to all of our amigos

“Nick, you look like a child trying to dress like a grown man.” -Maya

Doing overnight buses in style!
