I’ve come to find that God is quite the funny one. Preparing for this trip has had my mind in a whirl wind. From forms and visas to immunizations and moving, I can barely keep it all straight. The thing about God though is that He knows everything and how it is all going to work out before it actually does. I’ve come to find that when I start to live in my own thoughts and stray from the Lord, it ALL falls apart. Nothing gets finished, and I just become a whiny cry baby.
The second I jump off my high horse and turn to Him for peace, the puzzle pieces fall beautifully and effortlessly together. God is love. It’s as simple as that. He wants us to be happy and fulfilled, not stressing about the million and one things you have to scratch off your to-do list or WHHHHATEVER else it may be fogging your mind.
At training camp, my teammate Melissa put it like this. She said, “While we’re down here on earth freaking out and worrying about nonsense, God’s just chillin’ with His feet up and sippin’ on an ice cold lemonade. He knows that He’s got it all under control, we just have to have the faith that He actually does”. Remember y’all, God’s got our backs.
So when you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control, just sit back, pray, and have a refreshing lemonade. Papa’s got it all under control.
