Answer is today's Daily Double!!

Just kidding…

So, I figured the majority of you checking out this blog know me in some form or fashion, however for those that don't I wanted to go ahead and outline who I am and why I felt compelled to be on the World Race, etc.

The Basics!

Well, my name is Jordan Dale, I'm 23 years old, and I live in Alpharetta, GA.  I've got an older brother named Jake, 25, a younger brother named Jeremy, 18, and a wonderful mother and father: Beth and Billy.  I grew up in a Christian family, specifically Southern Baptist and now attend a non-denominational church in Alpharetta called North Point.

I went to a private Christian school in Norcross called Wesleyan, and was thoroughly blessed with having teachers and mentors who challenged me and cultivated my faith. I was a student at Auburn University (woo go Tigers– stomp that Tide) and still have about a year left.  I'm a huge swimmer, and for a long time considered that the extent of my identity.

I love to laugh and have a good time, I'd consider myself extremely extroverted, and would be thoroughly surprised if anyone disagreed with that. I love to sing and have the gift/curse of remembering every lyric I come across (from Josh Groban, Garth Brooks, Blue Scholars, Christina Aguilera, The Beatles, Brittney Spears and everything in between). Trust me– when you know every word to "Hit Me Baby One More Time," it's a curse 😛

Let's Go Deeper!

This is my first mission trip EVER. Yep, you read that correctly, the first mission trip I've felt compelled to go on was for ELEVEN months.  Funny how that works, huh?

In truth, I feel like the World Race presented itself at a time when I was struggling for purpose.  It seemed like nothing I was doing was resonating inside me or drumming up any passion.  Truth be told, it wasn't until after I got back from Training Camp that I truly felt on fire for the World Race. I know this is what I'm supposed to be doing, and I'm all in.

Looking Forward…

I was/am a Journalism/English major at Auburn, so I feel like I should attach a sort of disclaimer to what I want the purpose of this blog to be.  I'm the type of person who (once I'm committed to something), dislikes having an incomplete picture, and I want to know -everything- about it.  Truthfully, it can be a problem in something as large as the World Race where all the answers are not readily available, and I truly don't need to know all the answers (I'm working on it).

My readers, however, have the right to be voracious in their appetite for news from the field, and I want them to be.  So, I'm going to use this blog as a way to translate what I see, feel, experience on the World Race to my rabid readers (all 3 of you!!) and hopefully give you an accurate glimpse of what I'm experiencing in some of these amazing cultures and countries.

A caveat (or two):

I'll blog as frequently as I can, however it will be entirely contingent on Internet connection and the content will be determined by the country I'm in/what I'm able to share, because some things just have be censored.  With those things in mind, I'm going to try and provide as accurate a picture as I can.

And, of course, I'll supplement the material with videos and pictures as I have them.

That's really me in a nutshell, I realize it's only a general overview, but hopefully it will answers some questions.

Happy Reading!
