Hey guys! I hope everyone’s doing well back home and enjoying the holiday season! I know it’s been pretty amazing to spend it here in beautiful Japan with my F squad family and the incredible new people we’ve met during our time here this month.
So I’ve got some big, EXCITING news: I have been asked by the World Race to take up a position of leadership for the rest of this journey as Squad Storyteller! This is a brand new position created by those in the office at Adventures in Missions (AIM), and I will actually be the first person ever to hold this title in World Race history! Exciting stuff!
The idea behind a Squad Storyteller is essentially to encourage blogging amongst my squad and act as support in any way I can to help them best share their stories with the world. Because this is a new position, I have the opportunity to add my own flare to it and be a part of establishing what it looks like to be a Squad Storyteller, of course under the direction of my mentors and leaders at AIM.
For those of you who don’t know, storytelling is something that has always been very near to my heart and what I received my degree in from Ohio University this past December. Needless to say, I am so excited to use my education and my passions to help share the amazing things God is doing in F Squad this year through their blogs and personal stories.
As we come to a close of our month here in Japan and prepare to head to Malaysia, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite blogs from this month written by members of F Squad. I hope this helps paint a better picture of our time here in the beautiful country of Japan:
As a woman and a hopeless romantic, I know all to well the struggle of being caught in a constant state of daydreaming. Megan Jasitt is also one of those women—That is until one evening when the Lord walked into her daydream and changed the main character. This is a good one ladies.
Here’s a little insight into the culture and daily lives of the Japanese. Kaysea Campbell cries out for the need to shine a light in a place that desperately needs some hope.
An amazing story of love and redemption; With extreme courage and refreshing boldness, my friend Liz Frantti shares the deep, dark secrets of her soul. This one’s a must read. You go girl.
This one’s for you men! Zach Ripley of our squad lays out what it means to be a real man and his plea to see Men of God rise up after the examples he’s seen over these past two months in Colombia and Japan.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.” Courtney Knoff talks about what she is most thankful for this season, and how to find beauty and blessing in the small things.
