I have officailly arrived the magical realm of Swaziland.
My team of enthusiastic, white college students is legit. We’ve only been in Swaziland for a week, but the team is already acting like a family.
They wash each other’s dirty laundry, cook for each other, and wash each other’s dishes. We pray together, laugh together and cry together. From a leadership perspective, this is a beautiful thing to see, and I am so proud of each and every one of them for buying in and giving this their all.
We’re not perfect—we have our moments, but we’re learning how to address and resolve our differences in a mature, loving and God-honoring way.
If I could summarize the overall attitude of the team, I would say that they are humble, willing, and open towards whatever it is God has for them on this trip.
I’m so thankful to be a part of what God is doing in and through this lovely group of young adults, and he has been teaching me a lot in the process as well. It’s going to be a great couple of months!
