I’ve never been much of a chef, but tonight my roommate and I cooked two pots of chili. And it was good. I’ve never made chili before, so I am quite proud of myself right now. I’m also proud of myself for hosting a dinner party at my apartment for a total of ten people.

It was a lot of fun, and very fulfilling.

I have very little experience in front of a stove, so trying a new recipe for ten people was a bit of a risk for me. It felt good to push the envelope and take that risk. It’s satisfying to succeed at something you’re not necessarily good at. It made me want to cook more and try new recipes.

I also have very little experience with hosting dinner parties. But like I said, it was a lot of fun. It was satisfying see everyone enjoying themselves and know that my initiative was the only reason why these people had come together. Wow! I have the power and the ability to create and host this kind of scene. Why don’t I do this more often?? It gave me a lot of joy, and it’s definitely something I want to keep doing.
