Brent
Former football star, Brent Acker is a big, teddy bear of a black man from Mississippi with guns of steel and a heart of gold. This man has one speed, always giving one hundred and ten percent in everything he does, including working, playing, studying scripture, and downing food. When I see his contagious joy and compassion for others, I can´t help myself from getting excited and coming alive just a little bit more. This guy knows how to have fun, and he knows how to be serious and have those deep, meaningful talks that I love.
Alex
Made in Texas, Alex is a former cheerleader gone mostly indie with just a little bit of hipster. She´s the bomb dot com when it comes to working with kids of all ages, (and her peers even enjoy being around her too!) She reminds me of my sister a little bit, because they are both so humble and pure hearted, desiring only the things that good, right, and true. I admire her hunger to grow, learn, and deepen her relationship with The Lord.
Amanda
Also known as ”Beans,” Amanda is a tattoo collecting, guitar playing, snowboarder with an interest in photography who used to play soccer in her frozen homeland of North Dakota. Although she´s the youngest member of our squad, I´m convinced that she has ten times more life experience than I do, and I look up to her and respect her for that. I also admire her preference to be genuine and real rather than try to sugar coat things.
Kelli
Former volleyball star from Wisconsin, Kellie is a straight shooter with lightning quick reflexes, capable of instantly raising an eyebrow when confronted with anything too questionable or absurd. She also possesses a level of understanding that surpasses her years, as she can skillfully assess a situation and offer good advice without fail. She is both very reasonable and accepting, which makes her someone who I know I can go to if I ever need someone to talk something out with.
Marianne
Former volleyball star from Texas, Marianne is a sweet, tender hearted, jelly bean loving, bundle of emotions. She needs hugs in order to function properly throughout the day, and she likes lipstick, dancing, and Jesus. God sometimes lets her see angels and demons, which I think is the coolest thing ever. She also enjoys seeing people healed after praying for them, and I am eager to be praying alongside of her this year.
Betsy
From Ohio and more importantly alumni of UF, Betsy has a dangerously creative imagination along with unusual likings for Asian people and Korean pop music. She takes pride in her quirks (such as only wearing the color blue), but she is constantly stepping out of her comfort zone and defying her fears. I love that about her, along with the fact that she is an outspoken Harry Potter fan. She has a nurturing, caring spirit, and she always has something valuable to bring to a discussion.
