After a long flight, a long layover in Qatar, another long flight, and a long bus ride across a sketchy border, I’ve arrived in Swaziland! This month our (new) team is working together with 2 other (new) teams in Nsoko. We are helping teach preschool, and helping encourage Care Points in the area.
After we wrapped up ministry in Cambodia, but before we hoppped on a plane for Africa, our 2 Squad leaders announced our 3 new squad leaders, along with our new teams. Things didn’t get mixed up a ton – our team actually kept all of its original members except for one, and added one new member – the lovely Kelsie Biven.
The weather here has been absolutely phenomenal. It had been killing me that we were missing fall back in the US, hands down my favorite season. But at night and early in the morning here it gets really cool and breezy, and feels super awesome. A nice change from the never-ending heat of Asia.
The only internet in the area is at a restaurant down the road. It’s super slow, costs $3/hr. and you have to catch the hit-and-miss public transport to get there. So don’t expect to hear from me much this month!
I still have 2 blogs coming about things the Lord is teaching me, if I can ever get them wrapped up. But earlier this week it was really cool to read Daniel 3, specifically vs. 16 (check it out!), and see the parallel of their response, and what Romans 14 calls us to.
The months seem to be flying by – it’s hard to believe we’re already in month 5. The fact that they’re going by so fast must mean that we’re having a great time, right? But it also means that our last fundraising deadline is coming up fast. I still need to raise 4400 by the 1st of the year. If you’re already supporting me, thanks so much! If you know anyone else who wants to be a part of this – please let me/them know!
