I’m convinced that everything I have ever done in my life that was a success, my dad prayed for it.
The things I’ve received but didn’t deserve….
The countless spiritual mentors I have had in my life…
Every promotion I have ever gotten…
The girl that God has for me in the future… 🙂
The kids that await me…
All of the things God has taught me…
The crazy journey He has brought me on…
The responsibly irresponsible ambitions that I have…
The passions I want to pursue…
The strength I carry with me each and every day…
And after all that prayer, my dad will be the first one to tell you to remember Deuteronomy 8:18, “Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you the power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.”
Years ago before I was even a possibility, my dad read 2 chronicles 6 and felt that God was promising him another son.
In this chapter Solomon is praising the Lord and tells us all how his father David really wanted to build the temple but God had told him that it would be one of his sons who would do it (Solomon).
My dad has always supported me. But for this race after wiping my debt clean, he reminded me of my mission…to build God’s temple. And that he is called to support me in it.
Every day on this race, I know my Dad has prayed for me. And God has shown up in so many ways.
I want to pray diligently like my dad does. Because our Father DOES answer prayer. And I can’t wait to grow in that even more the remaining 5 months.
Thanks dad for everything you have done for me! I love you!!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!!
Your son,
Jonathan
