With training camp behind me, and finally back home (what a long drive!) I have finally had the chance to sit down and write another update.

Here’s is a very brief overview of what training camp was all about:
  • We slept in our new tent, it’ll take some getting used to but we chose well!
  • Our entire squad (named P Squad) includes 74 missionaries (including Cinthia and I), as well as 3 squad leaders (who have gone on The World Race before and will be with us for the first few months), and 2 coaches (who will come be with us for our debriefs quarterly)
  • The first 3 days were spent growing spiritually as individuals
  • The next few days were spent growing as a squad
  • The next few days were spent doing team building exercises to help see how people worked (or didn’t work) together
  • The last few days were spent with our team: having fun, building relationships, and increasing trust
On Thursday I was given the option of being a Team Leader, I humbly took the responsibility and I’m honoured and proud to introduce you all to my new team for the World Race!  These 6 people will be my new family as we travel around the world together for the next 11 months.

Our team name is GreenLight.  This indicates not only our willingness to go forth into the world, but also to shine light where ever we tread.  In the nautical world, green lights on channel markers showcase hazards in the waterways, and stand as warnings to mariners. Green light also means life-light, which is what our hearts desire to give to the people we encounter as we trek across the globe.  It is a very special name for us, and we hope you like it as well!   So without further ado, here they are!  My incredible teammates who have already stolen my heart!

         THE BUNFORDS:

I hope you guys know Cinthia and I by this point, if not
here we are! As I’ve previously mentioned I’ll be the
team leader I’ll be in charge of herding the
team together, facilitating our debrief sessions and
just generally keeping us on task.
I could go on and on about Cinthia, but if I had to sum
her up in a sentence I’d say she has a true servant’s
heart and can’t help but smile all the time. She’ll also
help me stay organized 🙂

BLAKE RUSHING:  Click here for his BLOG

Born and raised in the DC Area, Blake works in finance.
Despite being absolutely hilarious, he was also tapped
as a logistics leader for our entire squad!  So he will be
traveling ahead of us in each location to pave the way
for not only our team, but the other 10 teams in our
   group!

DANIEL DURICK:  Click here for his BLOG

Daniel is a videographer!  Born in Kentucky, and after
traveling has settled into the Cincinnati area.  He loves
to play drums, and does not sit still well.  He is going to
be the instigator of our group, I can feel it.  He loves
adventure, and likes to participate in Iron Man
competitions.  He is also the Finance Manager for our
   team!

SAMI MOOR:  Click here for her BLOG

I wish I could tell you where she is from, but
over the course of the weekend, I heard,
Arkansas, DC, and Atlanta.  So we’ll just say
she’s an All- American Girl.  She is an absolute
joy to be around, and has a contagious
 addiction to smiling.

SARAH GADDY:  Click here for her BLOG

Sarah is a firecracker! She is always throwing out ideas
for activities and cracking jokes.  She is to the point,
and very outgoing.  She is also the youngest person on
the entire Squad!  She’ll be just making the deadline,
and turning 21 at the end of June.  She is from the
state of Michigan, and will talk to anyone!  I mean
ANYONE.  She has no problem sitting down at tables of
complete strangers and striking up a conversation.
I’ve seen it! She is seriously bold.

STACEY HUME:  Click here for her BLOG

Stacey is on fire for God! God speaks to her more
clearly than I’ve ever heard Him. She’s always joking
around and it’s easy to see why her friends call her
“humorous.” She’s also a photographer and has been
around the world taking breathtaking pictures; thus
she’s already the unoficial photographer of Team
GreenLight!

So there they are!  Check out their blogs and get to know them because this is my family!
