Its been a few days since training camp and having those days to soak in what all happened there, I can honestly say that Im more excited than ever to join back up with my team and get to Romania. One of the many many things they told us at training was to not have any expectations because things will almost certainly change in one way or another. So on one of the first mornings we were there they told us that our route was changing. We will no longer go to Israel or Egypt because of economic and political reasons.
Not going to lie, I was pretty upset at first. Those were two of the countries I was most excited about being in. Regardless of what I want, God has a plan for us. Instead of those two counries, we are going to Central America now. I think the two countries that were talked about were Guatemala, and Nicaragua. I was pretty ok with not going to any Latin American places but now that we are, the Lord is creating in me a desire/brokenness for the people in these places.
A girl I met at camp has been to Nicaragua four times and has shared a little about her experience. I also have a friend who backpacked Central America for 4 months, and another friend who, for the past two or three summers, has spent some time working in Guatemala. Having heard about these people and places from friends I know and trust, I feel pretty excited to be able to tell them how God is continuing to work in these places and to share in the experiences that they’ve had.
So… our tentative route is now: Romania/Ukraine, Ireland, Kenya, Uganda, Pioneer Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, Pioneer Asia, Nicaragua/Guatemala
There is so much more to share with you guys about what really happened at training camp and what my crazy life looks like for the next two weeks pre launch, so Ill try to get that in soon….
Thanks to all,
Always welcoming your prayers
