Most of my memorable life starts as my family moved from Summerville SC to Anderson SC when I was 4. I began going to a private christian school but moved to a public school in the 3rd grade.
Most of my childhood was spent running around in the woods, shooting stuff with pellet guns, building forts, playing football, baseball, and whatever else me and the kids in my neighborhood could come up with.
In middle school I played football for two years and knocked my two front teeth out. I also ran track for the jv team at the high school. I pole vaulted and ran the 200. I hated sprinting but I loved pole vaulting. It was allot of fun.
Three days before I started high school my family moved back to the Charleston area, to Mount Pleasant SC. I ran track for two years with the high school. I tried my hand at surfing and could never pick it up. I had a kayak that I enjoyed surfing with. My friends and I would always drive our cars through the mud and that was always fun. I had an ’89 Land Cruiser FJ-60. I loved working on my car. Fishing was something I enjoyed doing. Everyone had a boat. My friends and I spent a great deal of time on the water fishing and doing whatever else. I was involved with young life and I thought it was allot of fun. We ate ice cream out of a gutter one time and passed around a jar of baby food once and every body threw up. It was funny
After high school, I wanted to go to Clemson because most of my friends were going there and I thought I wanted to do Mechanical Engineering, but having not even applied to college, I spent a year at tech in Charleston. I had changed my mind and after that year I moved to Columbia SC and eventually transferred into USC as a Media Arts major. After the first semester I thought Media Arts was dumb and I transferred to Biology. I loved it but it was more than I wanted to do so I I transferred yet again to Studio Art as a photography concentration.
In Columbia I spent allot of time at the river kayaking and just hanging out there with friends and taking pictures and enjoying life. I still like to spend time at the river but I have sold my kayak so no more of that. I love the mountains, even more than the beach, maybe because the beach is home and the mountains are just something unexplored and exciting. I love to camp and backpack.
I like to explore new things, ideas, and places. I like coffee and hot tea. I have recently tried to take High Fructose Corn Syrup out of my diet because it is terrible for you, but it is nearly impossible, so I enjoy a coke every now and then, and toaster strudels. I love putting salt and vinegar chips on my peanut butter sandwiches. I like to play soccer and ultimate frisbee. I love cultivating friendships and stimulating conversations, I love the dynamics behind relationships. I believe a hint of the image of God can be found in them as we are created to be relational people.
Moving to Columbia, “coincidentally” I lived next to a guy that I went to high school with. I started going to CRU (campus crusade for christ) with him and my eyes began to be opened to the Greatness of who Christ is. Now I am a member of a great church family and follow passionately after the heart and character of God.
Oh, and contra dancing is awesome
