So at work today I had just clocked back in from lunch and my friend Chris called me over to him.
He told me he thought he was going crazy. I asked him why. He told me he was getting so tired and sleepy.
He is so stressed out over everything going on In his life. I think he wants to end it.
I have been talking to him and helping him since I started 3rd shift there. He gets server migraines, and alot of stress from his home life. One day I was working and he came around the corner holding his head. I asked if he was ok.
He looked at me and said “thank you for caring about me” And gave me a hug.
But while on break. Everyone was talking about him. Saying he has been drinking, how he hugs people.
I stopped and thought. Why? Why do we claim things we don’t know? Why do we have to pass judgment on people?
I told them he was not drunk He was in pain. He is going through alot. All he needs is some one to care about him. Not just at work but at home, or wherever he is.
It is easy to judge someone you don’t know. But it is easier to stand up and care for someone you do.
So. Why do we judge? They say sticks and stones can break our bones, but words can never hurt you.
That is the biggest lie we are told. Words hurt. They cut to the core and you drag them around with you until you let them go.
Letting go of what someone has said is hard. It can drag you down or cause you to do the same to someone else.
So be careful what you say. Your words could do more damage than you think.
