Last month was one of my favorites yet. Not necessarily because of the location or the ministry but solely because of the community I lived in.
As I mentioned in past blogs, last month was “Manistry” and “Feministry” month where the guys and ladies serve separately. I was placed on a small team with 4 other ladies and we partnered with 3 other small teams. In total I lived with 22 ladies all month.
Most people would cringe after that last statement. “22 women under 1 roof? Gag me now.”
But that was SO not the case. It was such a fun, pleasant month. From our morning coffee/quiet time to our healthy veggie filled lunches to our afternoon “Sweating-Swazi” work out sessions… we lived it up.
Here is a poem written this month by the lovely Kacie Callison. Below the poem you will find a video summarizing our Feministry month here in Swaziland… enjoy!
22 women sit before me,
Women who carry the Lord with style.
Women I’ve been blessed to run this race with
Women I may not have met on any other mile.
Women who just have to know
How special they are to me,
And how our Lord has used them
To paint a picture of femininity.
You are each so unique,
Not one of you is like the other.
Each of you have something amazing that’s needed in this world,
Each of you incredibly worth being discovered.
We’re sitting here with 3 and a half months left
Before we go our separate ways,
Don’t let these moments pass you by
Missing the encounters He has for you in these days.
Community is something rare!
You’ll never have it like this again.
Even when it seems like the least desirable thing ever
Seek to find the good that lies within.
Choose to find the Lord in the chaos.
Choose to find Him when it’s still.
Choose to find Him when there’s too much to do.
Choose to find Him when there’s an abundance of time to fill.
Choose to find Him when you’re disappointed.
Choose to find Him when you don’t understand.
Choose to find Him when it’s the last thing you want to do,
When you wonder if you even want His hand.
Because He already chose us in the midst of our chaos
And loved us greater still.
He chooses us when we’ve chosen busyness,
And He’ waits patiently for a space to fill.
He chose us when we’ve done the disappointing
And when we’re slow to understand.
He chose us when we didn’t even want Him
When we turned away from His hand.
What you get from this Race, what you get from this life
He really leaves up to you.
He leads you to places that will bring life in abundance
And you get to choose what you will do.
So choose to live and seize these days
This is the last leg of this Race.
Dive in with people, dive in with Him
Refuse to wish these days away.
Thanks for letting me into your lives
And for sharing them so willingly,
I hope y’all know how much I love ya
And that you’ll forever mean the world to me.
