How am I already in my 3rd month of the Race? I look back and it seems like Ecuador and Peru went by SO fast. I apologize that my updates have been scarce the past 5 weeks, allow me to give you some info on what’s been going on recently….

Last month all of the teams were together in Trujillo Peru (60 of us). We all worked with an organization called Inca Link. We stayed in an unfinished orphanage on a compound they owned. Teams went out every day and served with various ministries, from witnessing to kids who live at the garbage dump to shoveling dirt for countless hours to finish the orphanage in time to welcome the new 72 kids that will soon call it home. (Run-on sentence? I think so.)

We all then headed to Lima for a week of debrief before continuing onto Bolivia. Debrief is a time for rest and processing. Our Squad Coaches (Randy & Betsy Garmon) come join us from the states and we have 1 on 1's with them to talk about where we are at spiritually, emotionally and physically. I underestimated how important this time of rest would be, but it was definitely needed and appreciated.

Last Wednesday morning we loaded up onto a bus and headed for the Bolivian border.  5 airbornes, 2 swollen ankles and 48 hours later we arrived in Cochabamba, Bolivia. We were picked up by a man named Manuel whose transportation company partners with Hospitals of Hope. He took us to the guest house behind the hospital where we will be staying for the month.

We are just getting settled here and will begin ministry on Monday morning. I am not positive on the specifics of our ministry but I do know we will be spending some time in the burn unit at the hospital as well as working on a few projects around the facility. They also partner with a few local orphanages and I believe we will be spending a few of our afternoons there as well.

I am really looking forward to this month and have a heart full of expectancy to the movement of God. I am praying for an increase of faith and a new perspective to the compassion of Christ.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers! Your comments and emails bring me SO much joy. Please be keeping my team in prayer as well as we enter this month.

Love you all!!

Expecting Great Things,
Jolene
