Hey there!

So glad you could stop by! smiley While you are here I’ve got some fun updates for you…

It’s been 2 weeks since Training Camp and life is definitely full steam ahead:

Work-wise, I’m coordinating 4 weddings and 10+ other events within the next 5 weeks. (my last day is December 6th) Its months like this one where I am grateful that breathing doesn’t take any conscious effort or else I may forget to do so.

Race-wise, big news!! I have been given my official launch date. Drum roll please……

January 7th

I have purchased my plane ticket and will be headed to Washington DC to meet up with my Squad before heading out on the World Race. Purchasing a one-way ticket definitely made my stomach drop. I’ve never had to buy one before. Ah! So excited.

Moving along…

Funds-wise, I have a big Photo Shoot Fundraiser coming up on Sunday, November 18th. A few fantastic photographers have volunteered their time and talent and will be facilitating 20-minute photo shoots for family holiday pictures. They will then be editing and providing 5 digital images for these families. Check it out below.

This would not have been possible without the help of 2 incredible photography companies. If you are getting married anytime soon and want the best for your big day please be sure to check out Aubrey Noelle Photography and Orange Owl Photo.

Heart-wise, I am currently reading Kingdom Journey by Seth Barnes (founder of the World Race). Can I just tell you that I can’t sit still while reading this? Seriously, it gets me so pumped up for the race that I have to take a lap around whatever building I’m in after each chapter !
(lap-cred to @christinalynn).

Allow me to share just a few nuggets as I close:

Seth share’s his vision when starting the world race:

“In my dream I see a generation of young people abandon their comfortable lives to fly in great numbers out into the harsh world to cover it with the glory of God. Their quest will seem reckless to those committed to a life of self-interest. They will appear impetuous to those measuring their commitment to follow Jesus according to careful risk-versus-reward formulas. They must go. The world is waiting for them.”

“ A good kingdom journey takes you to places where you are not in control. You find out very quickly that the standard bag of tricks you use to get your way and to maintain your comfort zone is useless in the place you will be traveling to. Through discomfort, I’ve learned to depend on God when my natural instinct is to rely on my own skills and talents”.

“Away from the familiar, our hearts become a place where God can work, a place where only faith will sustain us.”

“When you abandon your life, its like a seed that dies and grows a hundred times its size, you find new abundant life”.

Thanks for reading the update!

Love you all,
Jolene
