Training Camp. This is technically the “final interview” for the World Race.
In just over a week I will be heading to Georgia to unite for the first time, face to face, with my fellow N-Squad mates. I can’t really tell you what will be going on because I honestly don’t know. They keep the details to a minimum pretty much until we arrive.
Of course I’ve stalked dozens of blogs from past/current racers to read their experiences of Training Camp. Across the board the consensus has been:
“Do not even try to create expectations of what training camp will be”
“God will blow your box out of the water”
“Greatest breakthrough of my life!”
Coming from someone who often likes to be in control of a situation I am happy to announce that I am stoked on not knowing what Training Camp will entail. I am beyond excited to meet my team and learn more of what is ahead of us. This one-week will be a small taste of what next year will hold.
In other exciting and equally important news… I have met my first financial goal of $3,500. I still have $12,000 to go but the first hurdle has been cleared! There are many friends and supporters to thank for this and I will be blogging about all of these wonderful people very soon. Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I really start kicking my fundraising into full gear. I have a couple of events on the horizon as well as some incredible friends of mine are creating shirts that I will soon be selling.
Can’t wait to update you about Training Camp (October 13th – 20th) and thank you again for tuning into my blog!!
For now I leave you with a well-said description of the World Race made by fellow squad mate Joey Willis:
the social intimacy of the Real World
and the living conditions of Survivor”
Love you all!
Jolene
