One of the scriptures the Lord gave me this summer is James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Dear Friends and family,
My name is John Sims, I am twenty nine years old I am a biblical studies and Preaching major at Point University. I have had always had a passion for underprivileged. This recent summer I spent two months working with homeless kids at the City of Refuge, in Atlanta, Ga. As someone who grew up without a father, I could relate to those kids’ abandonment and brokenness.
I always wanted to do something bigger than myself. Working with those kids in Atlanta sparked a flame to take action. In my research, I found out how privileged we are in the United States of America. In some countries they do not have social programs to assist children.
God is calling me to do something bigger than myself. In July of 2015 we will leave the trip consist of eleven months and eleven countries. I will be working with various organizations that minister to children and orphans. Some of the countries are India, Thailand, and Nicaragua. The cost of the trip is 16,000 dollars all this includes insurance, flight, food. God has put a heart for orphans in me and this is the chance I have to fulfill it. Join me in my endeavor to bring the kingdom of God to earth.
If you would like to support me make checks payable to Adventures in Missions. You[JS1] can also pay online www.adventures.org/give
My Prayer needs include
1. God will give me a heart for the nations.
2. That God would provide the supplies i need for my trip.
Sincerely, John Sims
