What does it mean to live a life of LOVE?

I feel like we have an amazing example in Christ Jesus. He lived his life thinking of the needs of others before his own. We read through the scriptures and see that He fed the thousands after they had listened to Him for three whole days. In Mark 8:2-3 Jesus says “I have compassion for these people; they have been with me for three whole days and have nothing to eat. If I send them home hungry they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance.” The amazing fact is that these people were so engrossed in what Jesus said that they forgot to eat. Wow! How amazing is that? But something even more amazing is that Christ Jesus was teaching and didn’t eat. And when it came down to it Jesus never said that He was hungry. Rather, He thought of others and multiplied seven loaves and a few small fish to feed four thousand people.

On Saturday May 31st I witnessed more than 50 people truly living LOVE. A young Christian friend of mine felt called to set up a fundraiser to drill wells in Africa. The need for clean water is astounding; more than one billion people live without clean water. In Africa the average distance that people walk to get dirty water is 5 miles. So we all got together on a hot and humid day to walk five miles while carrying water. The turnout was amazing. Because we were in the heart of Atlanta we were able to reach so many people. So many people asked what we were doing. Countless strangers jumped in to help even though they had not signed up for this. I was mind blown at their willingness to help. It goes to show that people are attracted to LOVE.

We spent one afternoon of our lives to haul water. But the difference we made will last a lifetime. Just because of fifty people willing to LOVE; we were able to fund a new well in a village in Africa. These people will be forever grateful to the few Americans who walked in LOVE. Their entire lives are completely changed. This village will never need to worry about drinking dirty water again. The lives of the young children will be changed dramatically. They will have more time for school and extracurricular activities. This village will be changed for several generations to come.

Why do I write a post about A VILLAGE FOR A VILLAGE? ( http://projectlivelove.com/avforav/ ) Well because they share in my passion. My dream is to see the whole world’s needs met and the Gospel preached. I was so encouraged by my friends on Saturday. Wouldn’t it be amazing if on my Journey with The World Race, I was able to see that exact village? Wow, I get goose bumps just thinking of it. I LOVE to see how God is at work through all of us who let His LOVE flow through us.
