Hello! Sawadee Krap!

Ok, so on Sunday afternoon, quite the unexpected happened… It was our day off and all of us guys are just hanging out, relaxing, playing cards, chatting online and all of the sudden one of our contacts poked her head in the door and said that there was a fire on the girls property and Ton and Mam are on their way to pick us up!  We jumped up, ran out the door, grabbed some buckets, trash cans and whatever we could use to carry water.  Our contacts picked us up in their Songtail truck,  All of us 13 guys plus more of our contacts loaded up in one Songtail that was made for 8 Thai’s…(What a site to see!)  It practically dragged on the ground, Tyler and I literally hung off the back bumper and just about every bump we went over, it felt as if our feet hit the ground.   Not sure of how serious or how big the fire was, all of us were talking about what we were expecting… Meanwhile, whomever was driving was flying to our ministry site where the girls home is… As we drove up, Tyler and I saw a huge smoke cloud in the sky and at that moment, I knew it wasn’t some small little fire, because there is no way a smoke cloud would be that big!  And, not that I wasn’t praying already, but then my prayer became a shout to God to please put this fire out!  The property is being developed so there isn’t much of a constant water flow… There are ponds on the property, but there is only one pump on the property that can use a garden hose on it… and 2minutes after we arrived that pump ran dry…

The fire was huge, much bigger than I expected!… Flames were spread everywhere and at some parts 10 to 20 feet high and the fire had already burned a circumference the size of a football field… Some parts had burned out while other parts spread quickly!   There was no way possible that we could fight this fire, so we began to pour buckets of water along a fence line and basically wet everything we can around the fire to seal it off and try to contain it… The girls were absolutely incredible, they constantly brought buckets of water to us so we could drench the line and brought machetes and tools to us so we could chop trees and brush that hung over the line.  I have never fought a fire before and can’t imagine what it’s like being in the middle of one and fighting one off, because at one point Caleb and I were soaking a part of the line and clearing a part of the line that had several trees and brush that hung over and it was SCORCHING HOT! The fire was just across the fence line and felt as if it was right on my back and as we cut the tree’s and brush, it felt as if they were on fire with how hot they were… It was rather intense… But all in all GOD ROCKS!!!  And because of God’s just ABSOLUTE AMAZINGNESS AND COMPLETE SOVEREIGNTY, the fire was contained and put out with the use of just buckets and trash cans of water!!!!!!!
