Consider it Joy!!

A quick background and then an awesome story!!

Before I left on the race, a Pastor back home, Pastor Scott, preached on James 1. It was a great sermon and convicting as well. He talked about considering it joy when facing trials of all kinds because you never know what Gods will is in it all! His example was having a flat tire and not getting upset or worried, but to consider it joy! He said call triple a! and the moment the person shows up, ”I am going to put Jesus on him!” Because, what happens if that person is going through a tough time and is longing to hear the Good News!? But we are too worried about ourselves and our circumstances and we miss the blessing and joy of sharing the Amazing news of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ!

So! It is my teams last day at KL International Church in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are packed up on our way to another contacts location in Central KL to have lunch with a couple of the teams! I call the taxi service and they have two taxis on their way to come pick us up. Thirty minutes later, still no taxis. So, I flag a taxi driver down who just finished lunch and is walking out to his taxi and Jake, Margie and Christine load up and are on their way. As I look around the corner there are literally 15 -20 taxis that are parked on the side of the road. Meanwhile itfs been about 45minutes and we are already late to meet up with everyone.  As I walk down the road, I ask every driver I see if they could take us to Central KL, everyone of them say, No. So, I ask random guy if he speaks English and fortunately he does! So, I ask him if he could call us a taxi, or talk with one of these taxi drivers and ask them if they could take us to Central KL. So this guy and I start walking up and down the street and even into the restaurant asking every driver we see if they would take us to Central KL, not one of them would… It was very strange, normally they are begging us for them to give us a ride…
Gratefully, the taxi driver, Sylva, speaks English and we start talking with him. As we are driving Sylva starts talking about his wife and how she was sick and that he would pray to god for her. And the moment he said that, the Holy Spirit hit me hard and all I could hear in my head was God saying “this is my child and I want him now, Do not let him leave without telling him about me!” Over and over and over, that is all I could hear! So, as we are driving, I kept asking him questions about, God, who he would pray to and his faith…But, every time a question would come up, the conversation would get side tracked with directions and/or a call or text. So, we arrive at our destination and the voice is so loud I feel like it is practically audible! We unload the car, and I ask him, if he was busy and he said yes that his wife was called earlier and he needs to meet her, but he asks “why”and I said, “well sir, I have some amazing news that I really want to share with you.” I told him, it wont take long, we can sit in your car and you can keep the meter running, we can drive around the block, whatever you would like to do! He says, ok. So I tell Brook to grab some of the other guys to come grab our things because I needed to talk with Sylva!

So we sit in his car and I kid you not the moment we get in, his phone starts going off, calls and texts.. Immediately I begin praying to God and saying God you called me to be here, so please silence Satan so Sylva can hear the Good News and who You are. Seconds later, silence and I just start sharing about the Lord Jesus Christ, who He is and what He has done for myself and each of us! As, I share with him, his whole body changes and I can see his eyes begin to tear up! He said he wants Jesus Christ to be His Savior!!! He wants to spend eternal life with Him!!! So, I ask if he  wanted to pray right now and that I would pray with him! He said “yes, I do, please do!”So, we bow our heads to start praying and BAM!!! A motor cycle hits the front end of his taxi.   It wasn’t bad but it was enough that the whole car shook…    I look up and immediately begin to pray and command Satan that He is not going to take this away from Sylva! That this is Gods child! And as I look over to Sylva looking up, while the motor cycle is driving off, Sylva takes a deep breathe, closes his eyes, bows his head and continues praying!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so awesome!!!! As soon as he stopped, he looks at me with tears in his eyes and says, “I can’t tell you how I am feeling right now, all I can say is I have tingles all throughout my body!”He has tears in his eyes and a smile that is absolutely amazing!!!! I begin to tell him that what he is feeling is the LORD Jesus Christ’s Holy Spirit who now lives inside of him!! He is so excited! I am so excited, I feel like running up and down the street, shouting and jumping!!!!! We eventually say good bye and I get out of the car to go into the Canteen. As I am walking off, I look back and Sylva has his head bowed and his hands folded, praying!!!!!! It dawns on me to get some contact information for him. So, I quickly tell, one of our contacts Carol that I need some contact info. She scrounges around and finds a menu. I look at the door and see Sylva driving off! I take off running down the street and because God is so awesome, Sylva is stopped by a red light! So, I give him the information and all he does is say thank you over and over with tears in his eyes!! He doesn’t want to go, even when the light turns green! The LORD is so amazing and His Sovereignty is so awesome!!!! A divine appointment!
