She told me she didn’t want me to go. We talked in her closet full of stuffed animals and a balloon giraffe, our conversation being lit by a little light. She explained ideas to me about how she could potentially explore the crawl space in her new house. It would require some rope and a lot of carabiners But to her, it would just take some string and a flash light. She’s got to right idea I think, but at the same time she totally shouldn’t go in there because of all the itchy pink stuff. We discussed that too, I laughed and she laughed. We’re good friends. She doesn’t like my beard though, she says I look like a grandpa. I’ve loved this tiny woman for a long time.

She comes to my house to play music with me, and I’ve had the honor of taking her to school and to even to a play. We’ve explored in creeks, watched movies, ya know, the normal big cousin little cousin stuff. My favorite thing is getting to talk about Jesus with her. She loves Jesus a lot and The Holy Spirit is already working through her in so many ways. I think in her sweet innocence she knows that I am about to leave for a year to go share Jesus with people. So, before I left her house the other day she looked all over her room and gave me all her money, two little quarters. Truly and honestly the sweetest thing she could do. She has no clue how cool that was. I’ll remember to pray for her a lot as I travel. Also, when I interact with other kids around the world, I’ll remember all the awesome lessons God taught me through her. I’m thankful for you’re loving little Light, Liberty. I know you’ll read this eventually, or someone will show it to you. You are on my heart.
