Behind all mystery the Father’s heart is beating.

 I have struggles.

We all do.

Ive been hurt.

ive lost.

So, I turn to the person in the bible who lost it all.

I’ve been in wonder at how the Lord answers Job in his time of trouble.

Job who is lost and perplexed. Overwhelmed with unspeakable brokenness.

God answers Him.

From a thundercloud. A whirlwind.

Picture it.

Think of storms.

Think of that power.

The Lord calls out from there.

God draws near to Job, this desperate man. God speaks of mysteries that are far beyond and points out that mysteries equally impossible to understand are above his head and under his feet;

And

that He,

The lord

lives and moves amongst them. God works through and knows all of everything around us. Thats wild!! We stress and despair over mysteries forced upon us by sorrow and loss. We cannot figure it out, and are shaken to our very heart; but the whole universe explodes with mysteries to great for us. We cannot explain the creation of the world, the separation of sky and earth, the reflex influences of the one on the other. Light and darkness, wind and rain, snow and ice, storm and sunshine.

But we don’t worry about these things so much do we? We are in awe of them. We are in awe of the wonder of creation around us. Even though we don’t understand it we are floored by it. We use all of it to sustain our lives.

We cannot be surprised, therefore, if we learn of similar mysteries in God’s dealings with ourselves. He does not respond to our questions by always telling us His purposes. His thoughts and ways are as much higher than ours, as the heavens are higher than the earth, and we could not more understand His reasons than tiny babies can understand the mysteries of human life.

When i struggle, i think of how wonderful our world is. How truly infinite the love of my God is. I hurt, but i hurt less.

Life isn’t about me anyway.

but when,

We are straining our eyes in the darkness, trying to understand things, there is a great light of unchanging love. Behind all mystery the Father’s heart is beating, and a Father’s voice is pleading, that we should trust Him. He calls out to us.

Little children, you cannot understand, but you are infinitely dear to Me;

I have many things to say to you, but you cannot deal with them now;

“what I do, you will not know now, but you will know hereafter.

” Trust me, and “let not your heart be troubled.”
