But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

Riding in the car with my friend for years, so long have we been friends that his first child was a baby and is now a teen.  And as we drove a conversation about God’s direction and provision in life came up.  First I spoke of what God’s been doing, an overwhelming fact of the continual graces He’s been given.  Then my friend, Eric, talked about how God seemed to just open every door for them to get a house and allow it to be used for His purposes of making it a home for people and young adults at their church.  And then……out of the blue…..unexpected words of wisdom….

“It’s like God flicked the door and blew off all the hinges!”

Stunned, silenced, two older men had nothing more to say from what came from the lips of a small ten-year old.

Now if you’ve ever seen the movie, “Legend of Bagger Vance” it was a child that found the famous golfer Junah, and then the proud and loud mayor of the city says, “and a little child shall lead them,” a reference to Isaiah 11:6.  Even though that’s in the context of Jesus I began to quickly think of that verse when he spoke from the backseat.

If a ten year old child can say such a thing with so much life left, would I ever doubt God’s provision in my life?  If He’s truly called us to live a life of faith and ask great things in order to spread the gospel and let His kingdom come, would it really surprise us if God just blew off the hinges?  Take that step first, and let Him carry you and show you what it means to really trust.

He’s got your back.

He never gives up on His children.
                                                                                                   He is always there.

It won’t be what you expect.  The outcome and the process.  But it’s bigger than you.

It doesn’t take much for Him.

But He can blow off those hinges for you too.

It doesn’t take much faith to see the future and rely on things we can touch.  Isn’t the craziness part of faith trusting in what you can’t see and at times doesn’t make sense; but inside you know it’s right because there is something so much bigger.  Let him blow out the door and He’ll provide.
