Looking back over the last two years I’ve spent 17 months on the field with the World Race. Six of those being the last few months of squad leading. This final month is MANistry in Albania with the guys from B and C squads. Kevin Cattaneo and I were on the same squad and team a few years ago and have now reunited with our separate squads for one final month.

At the beginning of this month, B squad had an LDW or leadership development weekend. Here are eleven things that I left them with as they move into the second half of their race:

1. Reflect!

– Why did you come on the race? Why are you here? What have you learned?

2. Pray!

– Pray for your family. Friends. Ministry. Future. Teammates.

3. Get your a** in the river and stay there!

– How will you tell someone about Someone if you’re not spending time with that Someone. Be with your Father!

4. It’s not about you!

– How often are you thinking about yourself? How often are you thinking about God?

5. Stay present!

– Don’t think about tomorrow or next month or what country you’re most looking forward to. Enjoy today. Don’t miss out on what God is doing right now.

6. Get punched in the mouth!

– No more passivity. Get in the middle of the battle. Get wounded. Get punched. Go back for more.

7. Seek Adventure!

– Experience the world and different cultures. Grow in deeper intimacy with your Father. Let your relationship with your Father be an adventure!

8. Be a Dam Builder!

– Stand for what you believe.

9. You don’t get time back!

– Live your life with the mentality that what you’re currently doing might be the last thing you ever do.

10. Rejoice!

– Thank your Father that he saw it fit to pluck you out of your sin and call you His. Celebrate what you’ve experienced and learned.

11. Change the world!

– God is in the business of freeing people! Go. Do the thing. Heal the sick. Cast out demons. Break chains.

Bonus

12. Don’t be a quitter!

– You signed up for eleven months. The Lord called you to this eleven month journey not a two week long mission trip. Don’t give up when it’s hard. Push into the challenges.
