During the last few weeks, my race has changed drastically. The Lord has moved me to a new team, a new position, and a new ministry in the bush of Mozambique. To say I am in the middle of a whirlwind is an understatement. The dynamic of this journey has changed, from familiar to unknown. The people I am sharing community with have changed. The living conditions have changed, from uncomfortable to challenging. The changes have certainly been interesting. But it is a great exercise in commitment to Christ as unwavering, in all circumstances. An opportunity to see Christ in all people. I am delighted in these changes and excited to see the plan that Christ has for this month, the remainder of the race, and the entirety of my life.
To Favoured: Thank you for the last six months. Thank you for your forgiveness and grace. Thank you for loving me and allowing me to love you as best I can. Thank you for your patience and your joy; for your imperfections and idiosyncrasies; for your realness. I rejoice that we loved, laughed, and fought. It wasnt all perfect, but it was all ours, in Christ. And I rejoice in the ability to call you friends, to love you as family, to have walked our stories together for such a time as this. We will always have walking with wheelchairs in Latacunga, pushing wheelbarrows in Trujillo, volleyball in Chincha, laughing pictures in Brasov, projector movies in Ukraine, and gangster discipleship in South Africa. We have shared tears of joy, sorrow and anger. I will miss hearing the same movie quotes every day, playing games and deep conversations. You are all beautiful and loved. What an amazing time God allowed us to spend together. I cannot wait to share your continued friendship forever. You are always in my prayers.
To Audacious Love: I am excited for this new season of fellowship with you. In the few days we have been together, the Lord has brought us to conversation that has tasted the depths of intimacy with Him. I love the seeping of pursuit that drips from our hearts. I love our hunger for Scripture and our desire to know God better. May God bless our time as we press in to each other. I cannot wait to see what stories we share together (in addition to the perch potty and the condom church). Jesus is alive in each of you, in each of us; and for that, my rejoicing is never-ceasing. Thank you for trusting me with your lives. Lauren and Kylie, I am so thankful we get to continue this journey together. Steve, Meredith, Mindy, and Cassy you all have such great callings and giftings for the Kingdom of God. I love how real you are with what you are going through and who you know God to be. I pray unity and love, most of all love, over us as we stumble brokenly toward the cross of Christ together.
We are here, Team Audacious Love, striving to boldly serve and love beyond the borders of expectation and adequacy. Our ministry this month in Mozambique has been slow, giving us the blessing of a lot of time together. We are living in a village, talking and praying with people in the community. We are seeking, and finding, the miracle of loving each other and seeing the presence of Christ in those around us. Please continue to pray that we would not miss or undervalue the chance to see Christ here in this beautifully unique corner of the world.
