“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2a)
Almost everything about preparing for the Race has been hard. Even within the difficulties, there is immense joy and anticipation; but it has been tough. Easily the greatest part so far has been getting to know the members on my squad. I have never met any of them face-to-face, but feel such an aura of peace and like-mindedness in the various forms of communication. These are the people I will be sharing life and ministry, joy and heartbreak, travel and sick days with throughout my time overseas. It is so humbling and amazing to hear all of our different struggles, celebrations and circumstances – literally from coast-to-coast, Texas-to-Canada (and beyond) – and has called us to come together and be one. To unite as the body of Christ to carry the banner of Jesus into each others’ lives and to the very ends of the Earth.
Anyway, I though it was about time to introduce you to these people… so I made a little video. Check it out and please be in prayer for all of us as we prepare for the Race in 2013!!
