In life God sometimes calls us to do things that seem extreme or out of the ordinary. Sometimes we are called to reach out to the homeless and lost in our community. Sometimes we are called to go to Central America or Africa for a week or maybe even a month. And sometimes God calls us to backpack around the world sharing the hope that is the Gospel in 11 countries. The World Race is an 11-month mission trip that travels to 11 countries throughout six continents. In this case, my team and I will be traveling to Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam/Laos, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, Ukraine, and Romania.
Not that long ago, I was as broken as they come. I was further from Christ than one can possibly be. I was alone, miserable, and looking for love everywhere except for where I should have been looking. I prayed to God one night, something that I had not done in a long time, and I had a feeling of love that I could not have felt through any worldly thing.
I have always had a heart for the unfortunate. I have also seen lately that I have taken everything that I have for granted. I once prayed for God to allow me to see things the way he sees them, which has led me to research genocide and human trafficking. I felt a huge sorrow especially for the issues in Cambodia, where while genocide is no longer happening, the people are still recovering and the government is struggling to stop human trafficking. During this trip my team and I will be reaching out to people around the globe who are victims of sex trafficking, those with HIV, orphans, and people who have simply not heard the Word of God.
This journey does come at a price though. To cover the costs of travel and living, I will need to raise $15,500 to go on the trip, $6,500 of which needs to be raised before I leave. I am trusting in God for this and praying that He will provide the funds that I need through people like you. If 25 people can donate $50 for 12 months, or if 50 people can donate $25 for 12 months, I would be more than covered. Or a one-time donation can be given. Any little bit will help.
