Here's a little story…

I haven't always been a Christian
In fact for a long time I was the opposite
Before I first gave my heart to Christ, I found myself getting jealous of everyone's knowledge of the Gospel
I was jealous of the way my church friends could love one another unconditionally
And trust in a God they could not see
I had trouble with whether the stories in the Bible were fact or metaphors
But I realized this…
I was broken
I desperately needed something to believe in
I was sick of the way I was living
And I remembered before when I had been to church hearing about a loving God
A forgiving God
A God that could completely change me
And I was changed
God did a COMPLETE change
And I didn't have to do anything
I just had to love him
And simply WANT to learn more about him
And he would show me more
He would move my heart to what he would have me do
He is shaping me into the person he always meant me to be
I don't have to know everything cause he will give me the words to say
I don't have to be perfect cause he will forgive me
And best of all…
I realized that whatever I do in life
I will be happy as long as I am living for HIM.

Here's a few more thoughts…

My first favorite verse is Jeremiah 29: 11-13
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
This verse literally saved my life and is what brought me back to Christ.

My second favorite verse is Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
This verse puts me at ease when I worry about the future too much.

Paul is my favorite person in the Bible. My story is very comparable to his.

The 12 disciples were not the brightest people on Earth before the Resurrection.  And that makes them awesome.

I have a huge heart for victims of genocide and victims of slavery. And not just sexual slavery.  I recently discovered a country named Mauritania where slavery is still rampant.  Although it was abolished (most recently) in 2007, 20% of the population is still enslaved.  Only one person has been prosecuted since it's abolition.
I would highly suggest reading the story
