My sQuad decided to get serious and we did a day of constant prayer, this is what happened during my hour.
So I tend to be a quiet reserved individual.. At least I like to think I am.. Besides that God has laid some pretty awesome stuff on my heart with my time with him this evening.. So without further to do let us dive into the book of Isaiah!
Isaiah 60:1-5 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the people, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. “….” Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will swell with joy; to you the riches of the nations will come.
My God is a great God! These verses may not be directed at us specifically, but boy do they have some deep meaning! We are a light to nations who are lost in darkness, similar to Israel being a light to the surrounding area in the Old Testament… It’s crazy to think we will be seeing the world in just a few short weeks, and it’s crazy to think what God is doing in each our lives! At the end of the day God has got us! There is no place we can hide from his splendor or his majesty.. Ever day just pray for God to use you in whatever way he sees fit. Just yesterday I was able to share what I’ll be doing next year with a few customers. They thought it was the coolest thing that I am willing to be led to serve others… Onto the next chapter!
Isaiah 61:1-3 The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who mourn in Zion- to bestow upon them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and garments of praise instead of despair. They will be called the oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
How these verses are used the New Testament blows my mind! In Luke 4:16-19 Jesus preached his first sermon! He read verses 1-2 and stated that they were fulfilled that day. I’m sure each and everyone of us will have the opportunity to preach/witness to someone. To be honest I feel so ill prepared for this. The one thing I know is that God will provide with opportunities to learn from each of you! Hopefully you’ll learn something from me as well! Another thing I love about theses verses is about us planting oaks… It seems to be a common theme in each of our prayers. It’s crazy to think that the Lord who created everything is using each and everyone of us as his vessels, to plant seeds in the hearts of everyone we meet.
My final statement for my prayer time is kind of off subject… The past week I’ve been struggling with depression, I honestly felt really lost and alone. Today I remembered something that may be helpful for anyone who is going through tough times! We are all arrows in this so called life… When life is giving you hard time just know you can fall back into the Lord, and as soon as you do life will launch you into bigger and better things. We are blessed to be serving such a loving and caring God. May God bless you in all you do before January, may he ease your nerves and grant your hearts and minds peace.
