4 Bracelets…. (#3 & #4)

#3 — Mauricio’s Bracelet!!!

A gift…

My man!!! The man!!!

Love this guy!!!

This is a man of God. He has the best smile and the best laugh. So kind, so generous and caring. He’s always playing jokes on people.

His wife had surgery on the Sunday we inaugurated the church we helped build. She is the nicest and kindest woman.

Here is he is waking up the sleeping missionaries!!!

Mauricio sang us a song one day at the truck and it was so heartfelt. The hugs afterwards were so incredibly sincere.

We love you Mauricio & Doris!!!

Miss you already!!!

#4 — One precious bracelet…

The day at the alcoholic center… 30+ men and women gathered for basically what we call an AA meeting. Pastor Armando’s gave testimony, Pastor Marvin’s gave his. Men who have truly changed their lives!!! Out of respect for these men, I’ll ask first before sharing…  however, these men have powerful testimonies!!!

Jamie and I were up in front singing, the tears welling up inside me, my heart breaking, each one staring at me with these eyes of true Hopelessness…. Despair!!! …Tired of the Struggle.

Afterwards, while shaking the hands of different people, this one young man reaches out his hand and I notice something in the palm of the hand he’s reaching out with. As I shake his hand I feel it and wonder what this is, I look down and it’s a bracelet! A gift from this young boy! In Spanish I thank him many times, look him in the eyes will all the love I can muster. I hold his hand with both of mine, expressing my gratitude. He looks me straight in the eyes and receives my love but not a hint of anything else. Later on my way out I had tied it on and showed him, he simply nodded. Never saying a word, even when I asked him his name.

This bracelet means a lot to me.

God used us this day to make an impact. Later on we heard from Pastor Armando that he had talked to the man running the alcohol center and he said that the people there were SO happy we were there.

Pastor Armando’s life is about showing these people that they are loved. That they are important. North Americans coming this far, into this part of town to see them speaks volumes and Pastor Armando is so grateful for our time. And we are grateful for his.

(No pictures unfortunately, its not a good idea to bring anything of value into these areas….my apologies)
