Our month in India has been filled with laughter, joy, fun, and depth. We partnered with an organization called Sarah’s Covenant Home. Their mission is to love previously abandoned children with medical and special needs by caring for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The kids are cared for in a family environment and provided with medical care, education, physiotherapy, good nutrition & supplements, and lots of love!To learn more about SCH, you can visit their website at http://schindia.in/

It has been so enjoyable working with these sweet children. I’ve had the opportunity to help teach preschool for children between the ages of 6 months to five years old. They are the cutest! I have also had the opportunity to work with the older girls between the ages of 10 and 18 years old. The older girls have so much energy and get so excited to see us. It has been so much fun working with such different age ranges.

They are some of the sweetest, most precious kids I have every met. Working with the kids this month has truly been an amazing experience that I will never forget!

We also celebrated Christmas in India this month! If you are wondering what Christmas in India is like, I want to share it with you! On Christmas Eve, I cooked dinner for my team. I made chicken, mash potatoes, and green beans, which was a little taste of home for us. We had oreos and milk for desert and had fun laughing until our bellies hurt. We finished the night by watching a Christmas movie together.

On Christmas morning, my teammate Alex, made french toast for all of us. We had breakfast together and got to talk to our families. Then we got to watch all the kids open presents! It was so much fun to watch the joy on their faces as they opened their presents.

My awesome teammate Andrea made Christmas morning extra special for our team by getting presents for all of us and putting them under our “Christmas tree,” which was drawn out on a piece of paper and posted on the wall. We opened our presents together as a family on Christmas morning. That morning will always be a sweet memory I will always remember.

Later that day, some of my teammates and squadmates hopped on a plan and flew to New Delhi on a whim to see the Taj Mahal. We arrived late that night and woke up early the next morning to catch our rental cars and drive 3 hours to Agra.

We finally arrived at the Taj Mahal around 10 am. It was beautiful and breath-taking! The whole experience was so much better than I thought it would be. We got to go inside, see the detailed design work up close, and learn about the history of it. It was such a cool experience to see the Taj Mahal in person!

Our month in India was unforgettable. I continue to sit in awe of this adventure that God has me on. It has truly been one of the most amazing experiences, and I know that there is still so much more to come. I am learning to soak in every moment and trust the Lord deeper and deeper.

I’m so grateful. Thank you for following my journey and sharing this experience with me!
