That was the question this past month. Would we make it into Mozambique or not. The month was full of complications from the start and I could tell story after story of the traveling issues, paperwork issues, and finding people to stay with. I don't want to focus on those however. I want to tell you about some of the amazing moments where God showed up. (God did get 3 of the 6 teams across the border into Mozambique which was a miracle in itself.)

I came to Africa in expectation, with an expectant heart that God was going to show up in a way that I had never seen before. Up to this point I hadn't seen much, well "much" would be my own terms as in I hadn't seen what I had thought I was going to see. One of the nights before we actually started into ministry, my team and another team sat with our contact Jaco and his wife Maria. Jaco told us his testimony that evening and it was simply incredible to hear of the racism, suicidal attempts, and everything else that had plagued him in life. He also told us a story about how his right leg had been broken twice and was 2cm shorter than the left. After he was done sharing his testimony with us, one of the girls on my team kept asking if we could pray for him. After asking a few times, he agreed and so we all gathered around the campfire pit and asked him to stretch his leg out so we could pray. We laid hands on him and I placed my hand on his right knee. We all began praying out loud for him. Not to long into praying I could feel it as well as other people. GOD WAS HEALING HIM! His leg began to grow out and pretty soon we were all laughing and crying. Some saw it, others felt it, but you could see it with your eyes that his legs were now the same length! Come on God! It was an incredible miracle to witness, to see Gods glory and presence displayed in the way of physical healing. Most people believe healing in the physical is something that only happened in Bible times or when Jesus walked the earth, but let me tell you it's not, ITS FOR TODAY!

Throughout the year God has continued to surprise me whether it be through prayer, revelations about myself, miracles, or Him showing up when I least expect it. I am blown away by the times God showed up in our short month in Mozambique. There are stories upon stories that I can share about our traveling to, around and from this country. I can recall the people we met along the way that were literally a godsend and did everything they could to help us. I remember specifically the day we left from Mozambique, I don't think I have prayed so hard or so continuously for God to show up, and guess what HE DID, every step of the way! If I was to rewrite about that day, it would be pages and pages long, and lucky for me a team mate of mine already did. So, this is not "I'm too lazy to write" thing, but seriously she did an incredible job recalling the events from that day, so if you would like to read about how God showed up time and time again that day, head over to Chelsea's blog and read it.

God is faithful and will never leave us shorthanded. He hears our prayers and has been so constant this year. I see the silver linings when things go wrong, I watch the sun come up each morning reminding me its a new day, and I see God's hand in every person I encounter. I am thankful & blessed.
