Resolution to “Does God Love Africa’s AIDS Orphans?”

I honestly can’t put anything resembling a “resolution” here.  It’s heartbreaking, gut-wrenching and every other terrible emotion you can imagine.  It brings me back to the Father and causes me to ask “why?”  I must choose to believe that God is still good, still in control and still loving.  There is some explanation for this that isn’t some textbook seminary diatribe.

What I do know is that I was broken by it.  Indignation, anger, you name it – my cognitive dissonance was at an all time high.  And this time, it motivated me to DO something.

A New Direction

So before I hit the ground running with training camp for our new July team, I posted 17 case studies, the last one being somewhat unresolvable.  Many of you commented and I know many more of you read these.  These “grey” areas are what make life complicated – we need answers, we need resolution, we need to bring peace to those things which make life challenging.

But before I launch back into another round (God willing) of case studies, I wanted to take a break and reflect.

This last week we hosted 40 individuals preparing to launch for a year around the world.  35 of them are continuing on for this venture.  In an evaluation we asked them to fill out regarding our Ignition Training Camp, almost every one commented how it wasn’t what they expected, but it was exactly what they needed.

I step back and look at these amazing people, excited to reach the nations with the hope of Christ and it brings tears to my eyes.  To think of how many orphans these hands are going to hold, the sick who are going to be healed through their efforts, the ears that will hear the hope of Christ throuth the anointing of these individuals – it’s marvelous.

It makes it more than worth it to equip, prepare and empower these individuals to go out into the world and see it in all its pain and glory.

Now more than ever, I have the privilege of moving into a season of details, planning and preparing for another round of lives to be changed.  Many of you reading have partnered with me on this venture and I could not be more blessed to have your prayers and financial support.  Many of you need to be a part of this ministry because you are able and because you also want to play a part in seeing the world changed by a new generation.  Many of these racers need financial and prayer support, those they minister to need food, shelter, medicine and the like.  Myself and the leadership of World Race rely on financial support to continue our ministry as well.  (If you’re so inclined, you can click “Support Me” on the left hand side of this page).

World Race Staff

All in all, it couldn’t be a more rewarding or fulfilling season of watching God rebuild lives.  As this team begins, another team is soon to end.  Next week our June 07 World Race comes to a close in Panajachel, Guatemala.  25 lives changed, impacted and empowered for a lifestyle.  It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing.
