Leaving Africa was a little harder than I thought it would be. When we left Europe,  I was o.k. with it. I was ready for something new. We got to Africa, and I was worried at first if I would like it as much as I thought I was going to. I had a little bit of culture shock, and it being month 4 on the race, I was at a point where I was tired, and ready to just stop being around everyone and have alone time! (as racers know alone time doesn’t exist on the race)

Well we left Africa last week, and now we are on our last 5 months, all of them going to be in South East Asia. Don’t get me wrong, I love Asia already, and am excited for the change, and the rest of the race, but I have really missed Africa already. Africa inspired me in so many ways, and God grew me a ton during each month. And of course, I fell in love with every African baby I was able to hold. So here is to Africa! A life changing experience in a nut-shell!

                           Kenya:

I actually enjoyed teaching!!

We began to really get into speaking life, and encouragement to others that we have never met before!

The women here are inspirational, even though they are considered bottom of the class, they still have such hope, and joy!

                           Tanzania:

Stepped out of my shell and preach to an African church body.

Had tremendous spiritual growth, and stood in awe daily at the miraculous sights that God made in this world.

Continued to have a heart for children, even if considered “lame” in their culture.

                          Mozambique:

Learned of some stories of the boys, and saw God joy in each of them, no matter what adversity they had encountered.

Learned a lot about the bible, and was pushed in my faith during multiple bible studies our host held for our team.

Gained some passions for an older age group. (trust me it’s a big one )

Learned how to say “good-bye” to people, and a place I loved very much. (you were right mom)

Thank you Africa, for the growth, passion, and love I gained the last 3 months. I will miss Africa (especially the weather; currently freezing in Nepal).
