Recently members from teams Holy Banditz and Clay joined up
to go on a safari. Safari day came and we were wide-awake with excitement at
5:30 a.m. We headed out to the Ngorongoro Crater, claimed as the eighth wonder
of the world – I think a lot of things are claimed as the eighth wonder of the
world, but that is just my opinion.
We saw lots of zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, water buffalo,
birds and hippos. We also saw a mama rhino with her baby and a huge elephant
just walking next to the road through the rainforest. We saw a male lion and
four females lions, but they were all from a distance. All in all it was a
great day – a day full of fellowship with our squadmates, admiration for the
beautiful creation and amazement over the creativity of each of the animals.
As we were on our way home I let my head and my heart
wander. I realized that something in was still not satisfied. In the middle of
all of the adventure and beauty something in me was still hollow and left
wanting more. And again I was reminded that all of these amazing, beautiful
things are just that – amazing, beautiful things and that is not what our
hearts are truly seeking. Our hearts are yearning for a union that is unlike
any other. Our hearts are longing to be full and satisfied. We are longing to
be loved without ending.
We were created to be loved by the Creator of this world. We
were created to bring Him glory all the days of our lives. And we were created
to be in a relationship with Him – where He is the only one that truly satisfies
the deepest longings of our hearts.
and soon after a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. A reminder that sealed
up the promise that I belong to and am loved by the only One who can satisfy.
