My squad received some bitter sweet news last week. Because of issues with visas and other things we will no longer be serving in China or Mongolia. Hearing this news was hard to take for a lot of the squad. Many people signed up for this route because of at least one if not both of these countries so losing them brings a lot of emotions.
But here is the sweet part……….! A couple weeks ago we had Malaysia added to our route. We will be extending our stay there making it three weeks!! Then we were able to pray for where our teams would be going for month five. We were given a choice between Sri Lanka and Indonesia. We all spent a few days praying and asking God where He wants us to go and then brought our decisions to our teams. My team was 4:3 leaning towards Indonesia! So for month five team Firebrand along with God’s Magnolias and The Diamonds will be serving in Indonesia!!! YAY! The remaining four teams will be serving in Sri Lanka during this time. And last but not least we will be in Thailand for debrief around the end of month five for a week then we will be serving for two weeks there!
Oh what God must have planned for is in these countries! Even though the loss of China and Mongolia is difficult I know that He had this planned all along and that this is where we are meant to go. I can’t wait to see the amazing things He is going to do! Please keep R squad in your prayers as we grieve these losses and in the months to come for safety and direction to go exactly where He wants us!
