Hey Everyone!!
So, I just thought I would give you guys an update on what is going on in Jessieland and share my story of how I got here for those who don’t already know.
Currently I have about 10% of my funding!! Thanks so much to everyone that has supported me so far! Whether it be with donations, sharing my story, purchasing bracelets and t-shirts, or just sending encouraging words and prayers I hope you know how much I appreciate you! I have sold almost half of my Threads of Hope bracelets and about 30 t-shirts!! Both are still for sale so let me know if you would like some! Along with fundraising, I have been gathering gear and all the other fun stuff that I need for my journey. My parents very generously donated my tent, sleeping pad/bag, and pack. They arrived a couple of days ago, just in time for training camp which is next week!!! AHH!
Everything is moving so fast, sometimes I find myself letting stress and worry creep into my mind. Though God continually finds ways to show me that He has a plan and that everything is happening in His timing. It’s amazing how He can squeeze in so many lessons and so much growth into this short period of time before the race even begins. I can feel my patience growing stronger waiting for the funds to come in and having faith that He will provide. As much as I would like to be fully funded right now, I understand that I still have a lot of growing to do through this process, so I will continue doing all that I can!
I know God pushed me to take this leap and I know He has big plans for all of the racers He is sending out alongside me! On this trip my squad and I will be traveling to eleven countries in eleven months sharing Gods word, hugging babies, working with women and children that are victims of sex trafficking, and serving in many other ways as well. We will be reaching out to people that have never heard of Jesus and showing them the path to salvation! Not only will God be using us to touch others’ lives, this race is going to be life changing for us as well.
I have always had a passion for serving and two years ago I got the opportunity to join up with The World Race in Malawi. That month alone was life changing and it only made my passion for serving grow. Between then and now, I have had many ups and downs and a lot of changing and growing. About a year ago, I realized my life was turning in the opposite direction than what God had planned and I decided to make a change. I started working on my relationship with God and growing closer to Him every day. He was clearly preparing me for something big! In July I was reminiscing about my trip to Malawi and talking about how much I wanted to go on The World Race. With graduation coming up I was searching for the next adventure! The next big thing that God had planned. I started researching routes for January and Route 2 caught my eye. I took a couple days to pray about it and I really felt that this is what God wants me to do. So I applied and got accepted a couple weeks later! And now here I am!!
I can’t wait to see how God is going to change lives through this trip, both on the race and here at home! I am excited to share the stories!
I have my next financial goal of $10,000 due December 16! Without this, I won’t be able to launch in January. 🙁 So if you feel led to partner with me on this journey please don’t wait! You can do so here through my blog or at worldrace.org
