Taking the first step in commiting to do the World Race would have been hard enough a year ago when I would have had 12 months to fundraise. But no, God really loves to do the seemingly impossible. I signed up in late September to go on a route leaving in January. Nobody knows better than I do how crazy that is.

When I first felt called to do the WR in September, I remember looking up the different routes that were available to sign up for. They all looked great, but one stood out in particular. The catch was that it left in January and that would give me a very short amount of time to raise a whole lot of money. So I thought, ‘surely they have this same route leaving in August’. They didn’t. This particular route (Fusion), is only sent out once a year. I started praying over it a lot. I expected God would assure me of other plans he had for me and that this wasn’t really what he wanted. Well, he made it crystal clear that this was where he wanted me. I could never have imagined how much and in how many ways God has provided for me since then.

For example; On a Sunday, I prayed for a temporary job that would last until January. The following Tuesday, I got offered a job filling in for someone on maternity leave for six weeks.

The last few weeks I’ve felt like I’ve been walking on water and there’s really no way I could be doing this without God’s hand guiding me through it.

Praise Him
