So let me tell you a little about myself and World Race… 🙂
-I grew up in a small town in the beautiful state of Maryland. I have lived there my whole life. Although some people would probably find it a bit “behind the times,” it’s all I’ve known. And it’s beautiful. 🙂
-I have been blessed with three sisters, not to mention my mom and dad. Two brothers-in-law have been added to the bunch, and my precious ever-growing niece brightened this world three years ago. The most recent excitement in our family was the news that another little one is on its way. 🙂
-I went to a small Christian school and graduated with my besties…i cherish school memories.
-God led me through 4 years of community college, and I was able to graduate with my Associate’s Degree in Nursing this past May. (thank You, Jesus!)
-Favorite past times include playing volleyball, music, reading, being outdoors, and connecting with family and friends. Relationship is the stuff of life.
-Worshipping God has become a deeper experience in the last year or so. humbled and blessed that He chooses to grow me.
-I have a weird infatuation with Celtic music and want to travel through the United Kingdom…someday!
-I very much enjoy the city of Pittsburgh.
-I am easily amused and have often been told, “You’re the one that always laughs at my jokes even when they’re not funny.” 🙂
-I am an emotional person, which can sometimes get me in trouble…but I am His work in progress.
-Chocolate and peanut butter? yes, please. 🙂
-i can be quiet and a bit shy…until you get to know me.
-I am on this journey with my Heavenly Daddy…and I’m learning more about what living life as His child looks like…He changes things!

First off, this adventure is headed up by Adventures in Missions, which was established in 1989 by Seth Barnes and is headquartered in Gainesville, GA. It is an interdenominational organization that desires to see God raise up radically committed followers of Christ. They have various short and long-term trips for all ages to help provide people with an opportunity to do that.
World Race is one of the opportunities!
WR is an 11-month trip to 11 countries with various ministry opportunities in each country.
Adventures in Missions states that “Young adults (21–35) seeking the ultimate adventure will find that the World Race challenges worldviews and wrecks participants’ lives, calling them out of their comfort zones and into lives of real faith, discipleship, and community.” Activities that my team may be involved with include: teaching English, caring for orphans, building a house, preaching door-to-door or hut-to-hut, befriending prostitutes, encouraging pastors and missionaries, visiting people in prison, prayer-walking, and more!
…so there’s a small glimpse into this adventure!

Fundraising
The total amount needed for Adventures in Missions is $16,285.00, which includes my insurance. Through generous donations and numerous fundraisers by myself and dear friends, God has provided the TOTAL amount before I leave!!!
Ephesians 3:20 states that God is able to do above and beyond all we ask or think. The fact that I’m fully funded before I leave is a testimony to that!! So thankful.
