In 24 hours, I will be celebrating my 24th Birthday in America … For those of you who don’t know, my birthday is not in fact until September 9th; however, I love birthdays! (*hint hint to my Linc 10:10 fam*) So for my going away party I asked for a birthday party! And it was going to be a surprise, or a “supplies” as we jokingly call it in my family. But as you can determine from the fact that I am telling you about it, the surprise part was leaked this past weekend, but that’s totally not a problem for me. I like to know what’s going on.
Anyways, back to the point. I will be saying my “see ya later’s” tommorow as I get ready to begin my journey to the land of milk and … oh wait, no … Washington, DC. And I will be hitting the road jack and don’t I come back no more, no more, no more, no more … for 11 months (Lord willing …with your prayers and donations – click here to be a part of the Great Commission… Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations … which includes helping to send those of us out to the Nations, which is so much appreciated) … and I will be seeing that open road starting Wednesday morning … like 40 hours from now, dude!
I am about to begin the vuja de (de javu for people who say it correctly) process of packing everything I own in boxes and storing it, times like this, I am glad I sold/donated most everything this past weekend at my yardsale (oh insert side note: thank you to my lovely mother, my siblings, my BFFL – Amber Reeder, Forsyth Mower Works and surrounding businesses, GreenTree Baptist Church, ad everyone who came out to the events for making my Hot dog Lunch/Yardsale weekend possible – after expenses, $700 was brought in to help offset costs for my trip, praise the Lord!). Oh and then I will also be packing my BACKPACK, ahhh! =)
Anyways … it’s crazy to think that my life is about to be so drastically different. Being 24 is going to be AWESOME! I can’t wait to be at launch and then in Kenya … and then Uganda for my real BIRTHDAY!
Thank you for helping me to reach my launch deadline, now as I am leaving, some may say … “What are you going to do if you don’t have all your money in before you leave?”
Well, to be honest, I’m going to pray. I’m going to step out in bold faith. I’m going to trust that God would not bring me this far to not finish providing for my needs. He has provided me with an amazing support community in family, friends, Northpoint Baptist Church, many other churches that have partnered with me, and through individuals I may never know … Through their support I have been able to make it this far and I know He will bless others so they may in turn bless me with the gift of donations that help me stay on the field. I can’t even think about coming home early. I need $8,239 to finish the Race and I need about $4,000 more in the next 3 months to meet my 3rd deadline and to continue for 3 more months on the Race before the remainder must be in to complete the 11 months… So here I am, at the end of depending on what I can do … with no more income, limited extra funds outside of my support account, and unsure of how I will make ends meet … but in this I am thankful to know that I must be completely dependent on my Father in Heaven to reign down blessings and provide for the needs that I can not meet on my own.
