One preacher described it as if you and I were standing a short hundred yards away from a dam of water ten thousand miles high and ten thousand miles wide. All of a sudden that dam was breached, and a torrential flood of water came crashing toward us. right before it reached us, the ground in front of us opened up and swallowed it all. At the Cross, Christ drank the full cup of the wrath of God, and when he had downed the last drop, he turned the cup over and cried out, “IT IS FINISHED.” ~David Platt: Radical
I was reminded of these words by David Platt this morning as I was thinking about how I can start off my first blog EVER!!!! I am really excited because I have never done this before, but I know the journey is going to be rewarding. So why not start it off by reminiscing on our Saviors sacrifice!
So welcome, everybody!
Welcome to the blog of Jessica Tuttle. Like I said before, I have never done this so as I continue to post I know I will get smoother. To begin, I want to say thank you for visiting this site. My prayer is that you will be encouraged as you follow along with me on this amazing journey. You may laugh or you may cry or you may be spoken to by God himself, but what ever it is, I know good things will come from it.
Some things to know?

I love to use pictures, videos, diagrams and charts. Looking through other world racers blogs, I have come to figure out that my attention holds better if there is some sort of visual aspect.

Here I will share with you all the many things God does in my life. Some days it may be just a silly story and others it may be a story of His grace.

I am a really big freedom fighter. Injustice is wrong and I will probably blog a lot about it!!!
Where am I going?
-
For the World Race: Gap Year I will be going to Central America, South East Asia, and Africa.

One of the main reasons I was drawn to this trip is because when I was a junior in high school, Jesus opened my eyes to the reality of human trafficking and slavery. My heart was torn in half one weekend when I went to a missionary conference at Bethel College. There was a speaker there named Jon and we were all sitting in a circle and he was talking about the most horrific things I could ever imagine. I was weeping so uncontrollably. Each day almost 2,000 women and children are trafficked into sex slavery. The things that these women and children go through is unthinkable. Women are sold into prostitution are forced to sell themselves to 25-40 men A DAY!!! Many of these victims are children, in fact, 50% of them are children. Some as young as 7 years old.
How could I sit there and just cry my tears and then walk away? NO! Doing nothing is not an option! My heart has forever been changed for these people. There will be a day when there will be no more tears and no more pain and each and every slave will be set free! Until that day I will fight for those who are trapped and I will raise my voice for the voiceless.
For three whole months we will get to do something about this injustice. When we travel to South East Asia we will get to be in the middle of one of the core places for human trafficking and slavery. We will go into the bars and build relationships with the girls and tell them their real worth. Every day they are told they are nothing and worthless and that nobody cares about them. Our mission is going to be to tell them the GREAT news that Jesus loves them so much and they don’t have to be afraid anymore. I truly do daydream about the liberation of all of the captives. It’s coming soon folks…….
So please, won’t you join the movement?
