Hi everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t posted for so long. I did an
internet “fast” for the full month while we were in Romania, and I’ve
been in Dublin, Ireland for the last week, so quite honestly I’ve just
been distracted since we got here and haven’t gotten around to blogging
🙂

So before I go off raving about how Ireland is the greatest
place I’ve ever been, I suppose first I ought to write a little about
Romania.

Where, oh where, to begin.

Romania was a tough
month. We basically lived and worked in a gypsy village called Viille
Tecci, but we didn’t get to do a lot of ministry. The language barrier
was somehow tougher in this country, and transportation and
miscommunications made things very, very difficult. So this was a month
of just really seeking after the Lord and a lot of personal growth,
especially as we fought with the bitterness of feeling useless.
Relations with our contact were pretty rough, but in the end the Lord
redeemed and repaired a lot of relationships, and we were able to leave
without regretting our time there. The Lord had us there for a reason,
even if we don’t entirely understand it. (I realize that all of this
probably sounds quite cryptic and vague, but believe me, the full story
would take you all day to read.)

Probably the highlight of the
whole month was the hill. Romania is a beautiful country– rolling
green hills are everywhere, and every night ends in a mesmerizing
sunset. So right behind our house was this huge hill with a 360-degree
view, and that place became our refuge. Rachael and I climbed the hill
every morning for the first two and a half weeks we were there, and
just had incredible bible study and worship and prayer up above the
village. When things were tense with our contact or we were feeling
frustrated, we would run to the hill.

We
would look up occasionally to see a herd of sheep passing by– who knew
sheep had tails?? You can’t tell in this picture, but these sheep
definitely had long fluffy tails.

I’m sorry I haven’t written more about it, but I’m kinda just ready to
move on. The Lord is doing amazing things here and now, and I don’t
wanna look back on the hard times! But if you want more, I posted a lot
of pictures in a facebook album, just click HERE to see them.

Next post: IRELAND!!
