God is so good at giving good gifts.
I’ll admit that this month I’ve been pretty up and down on different days. My first week in Moldova was harder for me than my entire last month combined. Reality is settling in a little more. Conditions aren’t as favorable as I’d like. It’s pretty cold a lot of the time. FYI: I HATE being cold.
But like I said earlier, God is so good at giving good gifts. He even continues to do this when we are throwing a fit. He has definitely humbled me this month as He’s continued to bless me with some “little” things that were huge to me.
A Beautiful Hike
One day during the first week I was not having the best attitude for whatever reason. I don’t even remember now what for. Some of us girls began a prayer walk that ended up leading us to the top of a high hill. We crossed the railroad tracks and began to hike up through the countryside to the highest place we could see. We came across a cow, a cornfield, some locals and beautiful countryside as the sun shone down and warmed us while we hiked.
It was the perfect gift. The weather was beautiful, and the view was amazing. I could see the town that we’re ministering in, more than just the one street that we walk up and down every day. A new perspective does wonders for the soul. Being outside in the Father’s creation just refreshes me like nothing else. It was a special time of fellowship as well. I can’t really put into words what the Lord did for me that afternoon.

Grape Juice
Yesterday 4 of us girls went on a house visit. I got volunteered to go and basically had no idea what to expect. We ended helping a woman prepare her vineyard/garden for the winter. We did a lot of tilling that morning. (Good thing for me I already had some practice from tilling at the farm by shovel.)
It wasn’t quite what I was expecting when I heard that I was going on a house visit. I looked at the work to be done, and it seemed a bit daunting. I was already a bit sore and tired from working on the farm the day before, but guess what. We got the job done and even had a good time doing it.
The lady of the house brought us out a snack of grape juice and cookies. This was no ordinary grape juice. It was homemade with grapes and apples. It was the most delicious grape juice I’ve ever tasted hands down. It basically made the whole morning worth it. The Lord cares…about ALL the details.

Quiet Time
Space is limited and people are everywhere. Alone time is almost non-existent. There is little to no opportunity to be somewhere by yourself. I am a person who loves my alone/quiet time with the Lord, no distractions. If it’s outside, even better. I’ve been craving this lately to no avail.
Today the Lord blessed me with yet another precious gift. I ended up down on the farm this afternoon with nothing left to do. I took full advantage of this time. After taking in the farm, this place, these people, this opportunity for a few minutes I found a spot and settled in. It was just Jesus and I soaking up the sun and the aloneness with some music and my journal. I savored every moment.

God is soooo good at giving good gifts, but sometimes we miss them. Take the time today to pay attention and look for the gifts that the Father is giving you. He loves YOU. He treasures YOU. His gifts are just waiting for you to open them.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
