We were asked to write a blog about how we were called to this missions trip. Here is my story…..
Hmmm… where to start…!?
Well for my whole entire life I’ve had a passion for missions,
specifically for the hurting and broken people all over the world, I
love taking care of the sick and I LOVE children. So, in high school
I decided that I wanted to do medical missions, and that I was going to
go to college to get my degree in nursing!! This sounded like a great
plan but, God didn’t think so 🙂 he had a better plan for my life!!
After my first year of nursing school in the lovely land of Iowa and
cornfields. I dropped out of college to do a missions focused
internship called the 24/7 Leadership Academy in Colorado Springs,
Colorado!! It was pretty incredible, and that was when I really
realized that missions was my heart, I would truly come alive on
missions trips in ways that I never had before!!

So fast forward to this year, I was doing my second year in the
program which is now called the Desperation Leadership Academy, and we
are in Germany on a missions trip, randomly someone came up to me and
told me about The World Race, I had heard about it before, but this
time it was different… my heart couldn’t stop racing, and I knew that
I wanted to check it out. So we got back to the states, I looked at
the sight and realized that the January 2010 trip was going to all the
places that God had put on my heart in the past year, that was the
first crazy God thing. Then I prayed that if this was from God that I
would get accepted really fast … and I was accepted in 2 days… I
repeat 2 days!! It gets better…. one of my mentors then tells me she
has a word that I would walk away from the race with 11 wounds on my
heart but that their strategic wounds and that they would prove to be
“future” contacts. On another day, my roommate had a word for me, that
the nations were being prepared for me, and that the nations are
waiting…. it was really a God thing that all of this came together
the way it has and that God is proving to be faithful … and I am
soooooo ready and soooo excited to for whats to come!!
