Here we go. This is it. The last update. It is so crazy that it is the last day of Month 11 and that tomorrow I will posting this update from the U.S. Like seriously I don’t even know if I believe it. It has been such a crazy adventure. Think about this. By the time I get back to Georgia, I’m taking a quick detour in Seattle to visit my family there, I will have literally circumnavigated the world. A full 360 degrees. That alone is mind boggling, not to mention all that has happened in the past eleven months.

So I’m sure some of you may have a few questions about my trip and I am actually really excited to tell you about them. Coming home is going to be an adjustment so I just ask for your grace and patience as I adjust to life stateside.

So China…

Ministry

This month my team was working with New Day. New day is a multifaceted organization that has foster home, learning center, and more creative business as well. New day has asked us not to blog about what our experience there so I will be happy to answer all your question in person, but for now I will just post a link to their website so you can see a little of what they do on a day to day basis.

My team was not working in the foster home but with a different population of children that equally needs attention. I will say that being at New Day for month 11 was such a. They are the perfect host.

Prayer

I would ask that you be praying for my transition back to the life in the U.S. Right now I am super ready to be back in the States and back home but I know that there will be challenges along the way like missing my squadmates, paying more for one cup of coffee that I paid for food for an entire day, and the over stimulation of English everywhere, just to name a few things. I don’t know exactly what the next season of life entails so prayers for direction and that I would be really sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s are appreciated. Also be praying that while I am home trying to figure life out that I don’t get stuck in this rut of just hanging out and taking life as it comes and never actually going anywhere.

Also something that was really important to me before the Race that has only become even more important is that I have a community of people around me to just do life with me. Confession, I am actually really nervous about making friends (the World Race make you weird) when I get home so if you could be praying for the Lord to put the right people in my path to just do life with. This is probably my biggest concern going home.

Fundraising

So if you didn’t know I have been FULLY FUNDED since China (so this month). Thank you so much to every person who donated funds to me and prayed with and for me. This is the largest amount I have ever had to raise and there were a few time where I just didn’t know if it would come in. I have seen the Lord’s faithfulness and provision through each of your and willingness to invest in the Kingdom and in me. There will never be enough words to properly express my gratitude, but please know that because you my life has been forever changed by this experience.

What’s Next: After the World Race

So I have no long-term plans as of now. Immediately after the landing in the U.S I will be spending some time in Seattle with family and then returning to Georgia. I will take a few weeks off before hopefully returning to work at Arden’s Garden. I am actually really excited to go back there so pray that all works out smoothly, meaning there is work there for me.

Well that’s all folks. Thanks for being a part of the adventure!
