After over 40 hours of travel time, 4 plane trips, and 1 bus ride we are finally in our home for the next month. I’m not entirely sure what I was imagining for Bulgaria but this was not it.
Bulgaria is beautiful. I have been blown away by the beauty of this place. Varna is a tourist city that sits on the coast of The Black Sea. The beach is literally list than a mile from our apartment. It strange to think that this will be my home for next few weeks. We spent all of yesterday getting acclimated and exploring this city. We have even learned a few Bulgarian words.
Here is what will be doing as far as ministry.
- Week 1: we will be ministering to the locals in a small villages close to Varna. We will be working with children and teens sharing out testimonies with them. This village has two gypsy communities living here. One group are Romanian gypsies and the other are Turkish gypsies. We may also have opportunity to do some street outreach in the gypsy communities.
- Week 2: we will be living and serving in a local orphanage.
- Week 3: we will be helping at the summer camp for the church that is hosting us.
Please pray for my team as we do ministry. Pray that The Lord would speak through us so that others my come to know Him and his love through us. Pray that any words we speak would not be words of the flesh. Pray that my team would be united, that we would challenge each other to grow and transform in Jesus.
