Eventhough our time in Nicaragua has been much shorter than we had originally planned (due to the Honduras border being closed a few weeks ago), it has been a VERY fruitful time of ministry.  We’ve lived and worked onsite the church property (which is comprised of a pavillion for services, worship concerts, a baseball diamond, a swingset, a basketball/volleyball court, and a community drinking well).  One of the greatest things about living onsite is that we’ve been able to really build relationships; we know the names, faces and stories of a lot of the church community.

This past month our ministry has been primarily discipleship…we’ve worked especially close with the youth (14-25 years old), teaching them what living for His kingdom looks like and how they can bring it here to Candelaria. We’ve been blessed to be a part of weekly youth services, women’s ministry outeaches, sharing a day of prayer & fasting with the youth, a worship concert, and a weekly men’s leader meeting/bible study (for our guys).

During these past few weeks, we’ve been blessed to see 8 people saved, 1 young woman who recommited her life to Christ, and 1 of our youth ( Rosa, 14 years old) was baptized!!  Please keep these people and all of the community in your prayers!!

Also, for a quick travel update, we will be leaving this Thursday. Team Abandon & Fuego will meet up with the rest of the teams in the capital city, Managua. We will then be traveling back to Boston where we will be for a few hours before catching our next flight out–our entire squad will be meeting in Ireland for a few days of squad debrief before our next ministry assignments in Romania.  Thank you all for your continued prayers and words of encouragement.   I love you all so much!!!!

One morning some of the group went to plant rice in a nearby community.  I got to drive the tractor, but I accidently stalled it out…OOPS!  we had to pull it to jump start the engine!!!  I was praying, while the driver was laughing!

People here don’t just come to the land for a church service, they really are here all the time! At any given time you’ll see little kids playing, women sewing under the pavillion, men playing baseball, the worship band practing, etc-)

Me and some of my loves!!! Thankfully they are so patient with my Spanish!!
