The love of Carina

       She is a woman of beauty. A woman who the first time I looked at her I feel in love. I saw the love of the lord, I saw a woman who struggles with not feeling loved but she is loved way more than she will ever know. She has a smile of an angel and a joy like I have never seen. She is beatiful.

 

       Her name is Carina and lives here in Puerto Barrios, Guatamala. She doesnt have much. She is plagued by a country of poverty. They work so they can eat and have a place to lay their heads. She has a rough story way harder then I have ever heard. She grew up in a home that was dysfunctional. Her and her brother saw their dad kill somebody. She also grow up having her mom bring men home and sleep with them in the same room she slept in. She was broken.

 

    The Lord moved through her life in a big way. Now she leads worship for the church we are helping out this month. She is a leader. The Lord brought her to the point of brokeness and now her relationship with him is powerful. Her love for him is powerful. In return she gives that love to people, and I happen to be one of those people .

 

    Carina had on a really beautiful ring. I had been looking for a ring I liked in Mexico and Guatamala. I love rings. It was the Icthus fish with the word Jesus in the middle. The story of Icthus really speaks to me and it happens to be the tattoo I have. I told Carina that I loved her ring. She took off her ring and put it on my finger. I thought she was just putting it on for a second but when I tried to give it back to her she said no its a gift. I kept trying to give it back and she said no its a gift, I will be hurt if you dont accept it. Now I wear that ring on my finger and everything I look at it I think of her and the love of the lord.

     So how can a woman that has nothing give something so precious to her without wanting anything in return but a relationship? The lord did the same thing for us but he had something to give. He sent his son unto this earth, the most precious thing to him to die for us and all he wants in return is a relationship with him. He wants all of us, every part even if we have nothing to offer him. This story has really spoken volumes to me. Every day I wake up I make the decision to serve the Lord and I challenge you to do the same. Be a Carina, give abundantly even if you have nothing. The Lord will bless you.
